ZLIN AIRCRAFT a.s. has signed new contract

The Czech aircraft manufacturer ZLIN AIRCRAFT a.s. has signed a new contract with Escuela de Aviación Naval to deliver ZLIN Z 242 to Mexican Navy. The company said that the contract involved 5 new aircraft, which will be delivered this year and others, which are planned to deliver next year. The aircraft will be operated for training purposes of naval pilots.

The Mexican Navy has been ZLIN aircraft operator since 2001. More than seven ZLIN aircraft are still in service there. New orders from Mexico represent a significant increase in aircraft production at ZLIN AIRCRAFT’s facility this year. The company expects to acquire new orders from customers in other countries and as a result of this, new investments especially in assembly hall were made.

ZLIN 242L in acrobatic version is one of the ZLIN AIRCRAFT products currently offered on the
market. Additionally, new ZLIN 143 LSi FLIR with reconnaissance equipment was also launched this year. The aircraft has recently achieved 13 hours test flight.

The company based in Otrokovice is a traditional Czech aircraft manufacturer of acrobatic, training and multi-role aircraft, which employs 160 skilled people. ZLIN AIRCRAFT will celebrate 80 years of anniversary in 2014. Jan Antonin Bata founded the company in 1934.
