First “CCAI Round Table” focused on cooperation between industry and universities

Representatives of students, universities and aviation companies met on Thursday 7 December at first CCAI Round Table. Main topic of event organised by the Confederation of the Czech Aviation Industry on premises of the Department of Aerospace Engineering of Czech Technical University in Prague was cooperation between industry and universities.

Guests of the discussion representing universities were Robert Theiner from the Department of Aerospace Engineering of CTU in Prague, Tomáš Vampola from Aerospace Research Centre also of CTU in Prague and Robert Popela from Institute of Aerospace Engineering of Brno University of Technology. From companies, AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE, GE Aviation Czech, LOM Praha, ATG, Ray Service and Řízení letového provozu (Air Navigation Services) sent speakers. Representative of the Czech Invest agency was also present to the discussion. Vojtěch Malý, one of CCAI coordinators, hosted the round table.

Discussion focused on several topics including terms of publishing diploma theses in relation to sensitive data contained in them, methodology of setting themes of diploma theses and seeking for a way to address students with offer to work in aviation.

As a result of the round table, the Confederation of the Czech Aviation Industry has to fulfil several tasks. First of all, CCAI must help to create methodology facilitating communication between companies and universities. CCAI will also help international students to get summer jobs in Czech aviation companies.
